About Joanna
Joanna was inspired and encouraged to follow the path of yoga teacher training after many years practicing and enjoying yoga classes. Her love of dynamic flowing sequences led her to pursue Astanga Yoga Teacher Training 200 hrs Yoga Alliance which she completed in 2004 with Brian Cooper and Nawajyoti at Union Yoga in Edinburgh and Shanti Griha in Scoraig, Scotland.
Joanna continues to deepen her yoga practice and draws inspiration from workshops and intensives with a wide range of well known yogis such as Sri Dharma Mittra, David Swenson, Matthew Sweeney, Paul Grilley, Kausthub Desikachar, Shiva Rea and Sarah Powers. She also continues to practice with her yoga teacher Granville Cousins.
Joanna holds classes in Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Yoga with Relaxation and Yin Yoga in the Bolton and Manchester area. Yoga one-to-one – always available.
About the Retreat.
We will have a Vinyasa Flow practice in the morning and Yin Yoga practice in the evening, with relaxing Yoga Nidra after dinner.
The beautiful yoga room overlooks the gardens where rabbits and red squirrels come to feed.
There is a separate chalet with sauna and massage room where treatments will be available throughout the weekend (not included in the price). There will be ample time to explore the surrounding countryside which is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Join Maggie (Haybergill Centre) and Sadhana (Sadhana Yoga/Pilates) for a wonderful Wellbeing Weekend. We will offer sessions on how to cook healthy, organic, locally sourced and produced vegetarian foods, as well as Yoga (from dynamic flow, Yin & Hatha Yoga), Pilates, Meditations, Relaxation, Pranayama (breath practices), massage, sauna, walks and talks.
Yoga/Pilates – qualified British Wheel Yoga Teacher, Yin and Mindfulness Meditation and Pilates with several years experience, Sadhana’s classes ensure that all people are able to take part in the sessions and enjoy the true beauty and joy of the practice of Yoga and Pilates. Pilates also include correct posture ands spinal alignment.
Cooking – learn from a qualified Chef how to produce healthy, tasty food – recipes are all creative yet easy to make so no experience needed. Sessions will include how to produce a range of home made breads, variety of summer salads and great home grown and locally produced dishes (July) and Christmas treats (Dec.) not forgetting delicious healthy puddings. The food at Haybergill Centre is so popular that they have produced their own cook book. (all bellies catered for – vegan, gluten/nut free etc) which forms the basis for the cookery sessions.

Reiki and Personal/Spiritual Development Retreat with Martine Moorby.

This three-day retreat, now in its fifth year, is a wonderful opportunity for rest, renewal and learning. Hosted by Reiki Master Martine Moorby, the retreat offers a flexible combination of Reiki practice and meditations, energy work, workshop-style activities, and confidential life-coaching to address more personal questions.

Haybergill Weekend 17th - 19th Sept with Sarah Lionheart
Empowering Ourselves through Mindfulness, meditation and elements of wisdom from Yoga and Buddhism. This will be a experiential, fun weekend with time to ask questions and reflect on what is helpful personally for you. There will be free time for exploring the Eden Valley or just relaxing at Haybergill. Sarah Lionheart has been teaching since 1989 and for the last 10 years has been a student within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Pure Bliss Yoga Retreats 8th-10th October 2010
We all need to retreat from our hectic lifestyles once in a while to be cared for and nurtured...to find stillness and serenity...to unwind and recharge the batteries...to stay healthy, strong and centred for ourselves and those who rely on us. The Haybergill Centre, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, provides the perfect backdrop. In addition to daily yoga and meditation practice, there will be ample time to explore the surrounding countryside, spot the local wildlife, make use of the sauna and massage room, and generally soak up the natural environment. Everyone is welcome (minimum age is 18 years). The yoga and meditation will be suitable for all levels of ability and experience and each student will have the opportunity to receive plenty of individual assistance and guidance.
